Now imagine the following: You (a female) have been feeling a bit weird recently, and your period is late. So you take a pregnancy test……..and it´s positive. Now you might think “okay” after a while. Then you go to your doctor and you have an ultrasound and KaBOOM!!!
It´s not one baby, or even twins; you are going to have duodecuplets (which means 12 babies!!!).
Now, my question is: How would you feel? How would you react to those doubtlessly unexpected news? And how would a man react to that? (Maybe faint…..and finally cheer because now he can have a whole soccer team plus substitute? Stupid cliché, I know)
The reason I´m writing this is that I just read about a Tunisian woman, who actually IS pregnant with duodecuplets. And if she would give birth to all 12 of them, then this would definitely be a world record. However, having so many babies understandably carries enormous risks.
This is a woman carrying octuplets (=8 babies). Put in four more children and you´d know how 12 would look like.
And giving birth to the children on a natural way certainly is impossible. Nevertheless this Tunisian couple seems to be quite enthusiastic. They can´t wait to hold all their six girls and six boys in their arms (which I can guarantee them, is impossible to do). So we´ll see if she will have all twelve of them; would be rather sad if not.
